Saudi Lime appoints Makhdoum in Audit Committee

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Lime Industries Company announced the appointment of Ihsan Amanullah Makhdoum to its Audit Committee for the upcoming board session, according to a bourse filing.

The decision was finalized by the Board of Directors on 29 June 2026, securing a highly experienced financial professional to oversee the company’s internal controls and financial reporting for a four-year term beginning in July 2026.

Saudi Lime confirmed that the Board of Directors finalized the composition of the Audit Committee for the new board cycle. The appointment of Makhdoum as a member from outside the board is a strategic move intended to bolster the committee’s independent oversight capabilities.

The designated term for the new committee member is scheduled to commence on 21 July this year and will run through 20 July 2030. This timeline aligns with the start of the company’s new Board of Directors cycle, ensuring continuity in governance and financial scrutiny over the next four years.

Makhdoum brings a distinguished professional background to Saudi Lime, characterized by more than 27 years of experience in the financial and accounting sectors. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and holds a CPA designation from the United States.

Furthermore, his professional standing is further highlighted by his previous role as a partner at one of the Big Four international accounting firms, where he gained extensive exposure to global auditing standards and complex corporate structures.

His academic and certification credentials are equally robust, as Makhdoum graduated with honors from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. To complement his practical experience, he has earned a certified board member designation from the Financial Academy and the GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI).

Beyond his professional certifications, Makhdoum currently serves on various boards of directors and specializes in audit and risk committees across multiple organizations. His deep knowledge of business operations and corporate frameworks across diverse industries is expected to provide significant value to Saudi Lime Industries as it navigates the regulatory requirements of the Tadawul market.

The role of the Audit Committee is central to the company's commitment to transparency.

By appointing an external member with a specialized background in international accounting and local regulations, Saudi Lime aims to maintain high standards of financial integrity.

The committee is responsible for monitoring the company’s financial statements, evaluating the effectiveness of internal and external audit processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom.

This appointment follows the standard regulatory procedures for Saudi-listed companies, where the board is tasked with selecting qualified individuals to manage the critical functions of risk and financial reporting. The company noted that there were no objections from official authorities regarding the appointment process.
