Riyadh - Mubasher: Riyadh Air, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, has announced daily services between Riyadh and Cairo, expanding its global network, according to a press release.
The new route will be operated using the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and is expected to begin soon, reinforcing travel links between the two capital cities amid strong passenger demand.
Meanwhile, the Riyadh-Cairo corridor ranks among the busiest globally, with around 2.70 million passengers recorded as of 31 December 2025.
Tony Douglas, the CEO of Riyadh Air, stated: "The launch of our commercial service to Cairo marks a true beginning of our journey to connect Riyadh to the world and the world to Riyadh. Cairo will complement Riyadh Air’s previously announced routes to London Heathrow and Dubai, with additional destinations expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. Moreover, the carrier prepares to receive its first aircraft following its operational readiness phase.
The new route will facilitate travel for pilgrims, tourists, and business visitors while also supporting tourism flows between the two countries.
In addition, Riyadh Air introduced its new ‘Sfeer’ loyalty program, which will offer benefits including complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi for travelers flying to and from Egypt. Looking ahead, the airline plans to expand its network to more than 100 destinations by 2030.
