Doha – Mubasher: Qatargas, the world's largest liquefied natural gas company, said Monday that it has signed a five-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Centrica, the largest supplier of gas to households in the UK.
Under the agreement, Qatargas will deliver up to 2 million tonnes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) per year to Centrica until 2023 from Qatargas 4, according to a statement.
Qatargas 4 is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (70%) and Shell (30%), with a production capacity of 7.8 million tonnes-per-annum.
Earlier in June 2011, Qatargas and Centrica signed a three-year LNG supply agreement and extended later to December 2023.
