Mawani adds China Saudi Express service to Jeddah Islamic Port

Arab News: The Saudi Ports Authority, also known as Mawani, has announced the addition of the China Saudi Express shipping service, operated by Hizone Group, to Jeddah Islamic Port. The move is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime transport map, support the smooth flow of global trade, and increase operational efficiency.

The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port to regional and international ports, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Port Klang, with a capacity of 1,400 twenty-foot equivalent units, or TEUs, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The launch is part of Mawani’s efforts to strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port’s competitiveness on the global maritime transport map, support national exports, and enable Saudi companies to access new markets, thereby helping improve the Kingdom’s ranking on global logistics performance indicators.

The service is also expected to improve port operational efficiency and maximize Jeddah Islamic Port’s competitive advantage, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the transport and logistics sector, strengthen the Kingdom’s role as a regional and global logistics hub, and reinforce its position as a key link in international trade.

Jeddah Islamic Port is one of Saudi Arabia’s most important strategic ports on the Red Sea and plays a pivotal role in linking the Kingdom to global markets. It has advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics facilities that contribute to enhancing international trade and serving global supply chains.
