Cairo - Mubasher: Madinet Masr for Housing and Development and Elsewedy Electric Company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the latter's subsidiary, Elsewedy Electric Infrastructure, at a total value of EGP 400 million for a project in East Cairo.
The MoU covers advanced infrastructure works at the Elan project within the Sarai development, according to a press release.
The strategic partnership supports Madinet Masr’s vision to develop sustainable urban communities with smart infrastructure, aligning with international engineering standards.
It is worth noting that the infrastructure works at Elan are expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
President and CEO of Madinet Masr, Abdallah Sallam, said: “The partnership is a pivotal step in our strategy to accelerate construction progress, adhere to our timelines, and deliver projects that combine modern design with advanced infrastructure of the highest quality.”
For his part, Ahmed El-Sewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, added: “Leveraging our extensive expertise in infrastructure networks and utility stations, Elsewedy Electric Infrastructure will deliver advanced solutions that meet the highest engineering standards, ensuring the efficient and timely execution of the Elan project in Sarai.”
Meanwhile, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Madinet Masr, Mohamed Lashien, stated: “Our focus is on disciplined project management, optimized construction workflows, and consistent progress across all phases, ultimately translating into well-planned, high-performing urban communities that respond to the evolving demands of the Egyptian market.”
From his side, Chairman of Elsewedy Electric Infrastructure, Ahmed Ouda, noted: “Through our expertise in infrastructure networks and utility systems, we aim to support the timely and high-quality delivery of Elan and contribute to the development of sustainable urban communities.”
Spanning 5.50 million square meters (sqm) in New Cairo, Sarai combines modern urban living with suburban tranquility, offering apartments, S-Villas, townhouses, and extensive green spaces.
It is worth noting that in December 2025, Elsewedy Electric announced plans to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia and Qatar in line with its growth strategy.
Meanwhile, earlier in November, Madinet Masr formed a 50/50 joint venture (JV) with Waheej Real Estate to develop sustainable, modern urban communities in Riyadh.
