Go Energy, SARCO team up for low-carbon fuels project in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh — Mubasher: Clean Energy Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Refineries Company (SARCO), has signed a strategic agreement with Go Energy Group to develop a low-carbon fuels project in Saudi Arabia.

The project will follow an export-oriented business model, targeting European and Asian markets, where demand for lower-carbon energy and feedstock alternatives is growing, according to a press release.

To be implemented in three phases, the project’s initial production capacity is expected to reach 50,000 tons, with the aim of hitting 400,000 tons annually at full build-out.

Engineering design activities have commenced, while the partners will evaluate advanced technologies to support production efficiency, performance, and compliance with international market requirements.

Further technical, commercial, regulatory, and feasibility studies, alongside permitting and infrastructure assessments, will be conducted before the partners make a final investment decision and begin construction.

Subject to the completion of the required studies, approvals, and development milestones, the project is expected to begin operations in the first quarter (Q1) of 2029.

The final production capacity, product mix, and development schedule will depend on the outcomes of the ongoing assessments and investment
