Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign and Arab purchases.
By 10:3 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 149.48 points, or 1.15%, to 13,141 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.04% to 673.12 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index added 0.17% to 1,689 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.53% to 2,160 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 23.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 98.7 million through 2,900 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 3.04 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 2.4 million and EGP 589,200, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) climbed 2.18% to EGP 74.06.
