Cairo - Sharikat Mubasher: Egyptian climate tech startup NoorNation secured $1.05 million in a seed funding round from Linah Farms, with participation from climate tech investor Catalyst Fund and Saudi firm KBW Ventures.
The investment will support NoorNation’s plans to develop a pay-per-use solar irrigation model, designed for farmers who continue to rely on diesel-powered water pumps, the company revealed in a statement today.
This model aims to make solar-powered irrigation more accessible to agricultural businesses while reducing their exposure to fuel costs.
With this investment, Linah Farms joins NoorNation’s shareholder base, moving from a commercial customer to an investor after deploying the startup's renewable energy solutions across several of its operations.
Linah Farms is expected to support financing for NoorNation’s irrigation model, extending the partnership beyond its existing energy installations.
NoorNation and Linah Farms have worked together on several renewable energy projects, including the solar-powered irrigation system at Linah Farms' Bahariya Oasis operations, alongside another agreement covering five additional solar installations with a combined capacity of approximately 1.13 MWp across the Bahariya Oasis and West Minya.
