Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Hotel room prices in the UAE capital fell by around 10% in the first nine months of 2016 to AED 376 ($102.48) per night, compared to AED 417 ($113.55) in the same period in 2015.
Hotel visitors in the emirate grew by 9% to 3.28 million in the first nine months of the year, compared to 3 million visitors in the year-ago period, a new report by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) showed.
Hotel nights spent in Abu Dhabi's hotels increased 3% year-on-year during the period to 8.8 million from 8.5 million.
The UAE capital boasts 168 hotels comprising 30,200 rooms, the report showed.
Tourism revenues during the nine-month period of 2016 reached AED 4.27 billion, of which AED 2.1 billion were from hotel rooms and AED 1.5 billion were from the food and beverages sectors, the report added.
